![]() Someone on another forum mentioned something about OpenManage from Dell which allowed you too install the OS? Anyone know anything about it? Wasn't able to find the bootable file for it since the link seems no longer available and links to a generic page. This was his comment. 'As you ahve mentioned that you have got dell 2950 server so you should use the dell bootable cd called openmanage. This cd is used to boot the dell servers and to do the operating system installation. Windows Server 2003 ISO With Product Key Identifier WindowsServer2003. Identifier-ark ark:/13960/t3tv1g71g. Server wasn't 64 bit so needed 2003 R2 or earlier, but it didn't make sense to buy new copy of software that is already out of date. Downgrade rights allow them to use SBS 2008 on replacement server in the future. ![]() Download it from here Thanks'. Any Idea why this is so cheap? Well offhand after looking at the negative comments, its because the seller is shady has hell and sells stolen keys. Server 2003 Iso MountI donno, selling the same product nearly the same price with 99.9% ebay rating? Is the software missing something? How would you tell Prior to purchasing? Some of the more expensive items on eBay mention 2, 5 or 25 CALs (which means absolutely nothing to me) but this one doesn't mention anything about CALs ect. I might have to flick them a message and hope for a honest reply haha. With everyone pulling the piss out of my 15 year old software I was thinking maybe just upgrade. We suggested ebay to at least find a disc for your 15 year old software because you already have a key that you know is legit. We DO NOT recommend you buying a different Server OS/License off of eBay. If it is a new OS on eBay for cheaper then retail then odds are it is a stolen key, which means as a business running windows server you can face very very large fines for using that stolen key. Beyblade metal fusion episode 45. So in windows server world things have changed over the last 15 years: CAL is a user/device license. You get to pick one or the other so if you have 15 computers and 6 users you need 6 user CALs, if you have shared terminals and say 6 computers/devices and 15 users then you need 6 device CALS. Now interestingly enough microsoft does not require you to input the CAL license into the OS, merly hang onto it for record keeping in case of an 'audit'. Also, you need a completely seperate version/CAL if you want the users to have remote desktop capability to said server. Another change is the cost of OS for virutlazation or Servers with more then 2 physical CPUs on the baord. We'll install it as soon as possible on our 25 Windows Server 2003 systems. I always like to keep my servers up-to-date, not only for security reasons (we use WSUS to patch our servers), but because new server applications usually only can be installed if you have the latest service pack. I installed the SP today on a test server, and so far I didn't encounter any problem. But somehow, I still can't get used to the fact that one has to reboot the system after installing a service pack. I don't know much about system programming, but installing updates which leave the kernel untouched shouldn't be such a big deal.
